Bamboo Cutlery Sets

Friends! It's been a while since I last posted on here, but I am listing some awesome new bamboo cutlery sets tomorrow so I wanted to pop back on and give you a quick sneak peek! This is a product I've been dreaming up for quite some time. When I started my shop a few years back, my goal was to make products that help people move towards a "zero waste" lifestyle. Combing that goal with my love of creating and sewing, I started a small Etsy shop and decided to blog along the way. Admittedly I got a little distracted over the years (pretty fabrics and zipper pouches, what can I say!), so I'm eager to get back on track and bring you more eco-friendly handmade goods. But have no fear, my zipper pouches are not disappearing! I'm certainly not a sustainability expert, but my background is in biology and public health and I love brining that knowledge out here. I'm hoping to share more on what I am doing in my own home to make small, eco-friendly chang

Straw cases are here!

You guys, I am SO excited about these straw cases. I have been dreaming them up for a long time and after numerous requests over the summer, I decided to carve out some time and draft the pattern. I am so pleased to say that they are now listed in my Etsy shop for the holiday season. The best part? They are available in fifteen different colors. Yes! They are available as the case alone or with two 9" handmade stainless steel straws. What a fun way to work towards a zero waste lifestyle. Let's just take a second to talk about these stainless steel straws too. A local MA woman and her team hand make these straws. They are AMAZING. They make cold drinks extra crisp and cold. I say this to everyone, but I don't think you can fully comprehend what I mean until you actually try them out for yourself! Not only do I love supporting another small business, but I love using and sharing a quality product. As a thank you for your support, go ahead and use this code STRAW201

October 2018 Favorites

October is easily one of my favorite months of the year. So I'm very excited to share my favorite items from this past month. Here we go! 1. Little Women - Rifle Paper Co. edition : We took a trip to Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA this month to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary (we got married at Fruitlands!). I always make a point to pick up a little keepsake when we make the trip out there. The week we visited was the same week that Emma Watson was in town filming Little Women (eek!) so of course this made the perfect souvenir! And on top of all that, the cover is designed by Rifle Paper! 2. Halloween sewing: After about 8 different costume ideas, Amaia finally decided on being Dani Dennison from Hocus Pocus. I sewed together a skirt, shirt, and hat along with a crocheted scarf. All in all it took about one weekend to make, but it was SO fun to put together. 3. Fall zippers & fabric: I've shared these prints on Instagram quite a bit, but I absolutely lov

September 2018 Favorites

Another month has flown by! September marked a very exciting month for our family as little Alexander turned the big one year old! It's crazy how time flies with kids. When people say the days are slow but the years are FAST, they are completely right. Family apple picking trip 2018! Last month brought us on a family trip to the White Mountains in New Hampshire, lots of weekend fall activities, and the beginning of ballet class for Amaia. It was a fun yet relaxing month also filled with lots of sewing and market prep. In maker world, crazy season starts about mid-October until Christmas time, so I'm trying to squeeze in as much work as I can these days.  September was fun, so I'm excited to share my favorites: 1. Portsmouth Fabric Company: We took a quick family trip to one of my absolute favorite fabric & quilt shops in Portsmouth, NH. If you are in the local area this shop is an absolute MUST. They have an amazing selection and there is something magic

Fabric Haul

Today I thought it might be fun to share a recent fabric haul! If I'm not sewing, I'm either sorting through my fabric stash or dreaming of adding new prints to my stash. I absolutely love matching up colors and textures. There is just something about fabric that makes me happy. Let's jump right in! For starters, I decided to restock this gorgeous blue palette that I've been working with all summer. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I'm obsessed. I originally picked these up in person at the Portsmouth Fabric Co. in New Hampshire, but this time around I did a quick online order. They remind me of classic seaside New England. Especially with those adorable whales! Next up I tried out some new fall inspired colors. I don't know about you, but I'm dying for some cool crisp fall weather. It has been a hot and humid summer in our area, and I'm ready for the leaves to change, the air to cool off, and some fun fall activities.  I'm hop
